True but the Show itself is owned by Studio Nue, so even if Kawamori Shoji did not want to do another show (or he tragically passes away) the Studio can still make new shows.
At least that is how it works in the States (Gene Rodenberry is dead, yet Star Trek is still being made for movies and TV)
Or does the creator of the show own the rights to the show, in Japan, and if the creator retires or dies the chow ends?
They producers of Macros 7 wanted to be it's own thing and not be a "Search for lost friends" show
But i hope a new Macross anime of maybe a flashback in the next one will tell us
I hope so in a cartoon, even if it's a movie or a "flashback" in the next Macross show
