Aimo (アイモ Aimo) is an insert song from the Macross Frontier television series, sung by the character Ranka Lee.
It was also used as the ending theme for Episode 7 and Aimo ~ Tori no Hito was used as the ending theme for Episode 10.
Overview[]
Aimo is the only memory Ranka Lee has of her past during the beginning of the television series. The song was originally written as a love song by the Vajra as a way of communicating between other groups of Vajra in different parts of the galaxy.

- As part of Luca Angelloni's plan, Ranka sings Aimo to lure the Vajra to Island 3 so they can be destroyed by the Little Girl fold bomb after the rest of the fleet can get to a safe distance.

- In the orbit of the Vajra home planet, Ranka sings it to the Vajra as she and Brera repatriate Ai-kun to them. Brera joins in with his Harmonica; this version is known as Brera to Ko-Ranka no Aimo (ブレラと子ランカのアイモ).

- The first song Ranka sings to the Vajra.
Macross Frontier Movie: The False Songstress[]
- At Griffith Park, Ranka sings it to Alto after he throws a paper airplane. Sheryl, joins in and appears, curious as to where she knew the song from.
- Sheryl sings it at Griffith Park after handing free tickets to Ranka Lee for Alto and her to go to SHERYL NOME REVENGE LIVE IN FRONTIER together. Ranka joins in at the fifth line, causing Ai-kun to glow.
- Ranka sings the first few lines as a child.
