Diamond Force (ダイアモンドフォース, daiyamondo fuo-su) is an elite Variable Fighter squadron introduced in the Macross 7 television series.

History

Led by former Pink Pecker squad member Kinryu, Diamond Force was a group of VF-17 Nightmare pilots considered elite class based on their overall performance assessment from military flight school. As such, their training, supplies and other standard issue equipment differed from the average military pilot assigned to the Macross 7 fleet.

Docker only participated in one sortie as its member. His Spiritia was drained and this left him comatose for a long time. Physica S. Fulcrum took his place.

After the loss of Kinryu and Physica, Diamond Force was reorganized as an dedicated escort squadron for City 7 under Gamlin Kizaki's leadership. Mayor Milia assigned two rookie pilots Dick and Morry as his subordinates.

Docker on the other hand, eventually recovered from his coma thanks to Sound Therapy and became the leader of Emerald Force, a newly-formed elite squadron of VF-19 Excalibur pilots.
