History
The Fokker D.VII series itself is an old warplane series dating back to First World War. Many flew in combat operations as early as 1918. At that time, it was considered advanced because it possessed superior handling characteristics over competing warplanes models.
Sometime before Space War I, Fokker D.VII replicas were used in a flying circus by the father of Hikaru Ichijyo [1]

Hikaru received a scale-model of the Fokker D.VII from Roy as a get-well-soon gift while he was recovering from head trauma. He dropped the finished model on the floor in shock when Misa told him that Roy had died [2]
