Humanity Seeding Project is an initiative created by the New United Nations Government to ensure the survival of humanity. in the event Earth was attacked by hostile forces. It's main goal was to colonize as many planet's throughout the Milky Way galaxy spreading Culture.

After the conclusion of Space War I in 2010 AD which cost the lives of over 3 billion lives on Earth, it became quite apparent that humanity couldn't survive another attack from other hostile aliens. The New United Nations Government along with the U.N. Spacy had achieved lasting peace with the Zentradi so the NUNS goverment announced they were going to build emigration fleets to colonize other planets in order to safeguard humanitys survival. To this end a new type of colony ship was designed which ultimately became the Megaroad-class, over a dozen of these were built between the 2010s to 2030s. These giant colony vessels could carry over 80,000 people for long periods in deep space ( they relied on their fleet of escort vessels & Valkyrie fighter squadrons for protection as these giant ships had minimal armament ).
The first Megaroad-class was launched in 2012 with great fanfare, under the command of Captain Misa Hayase. It's mission was to colonize the center of the galaxy but all contact was lost with the fleet in 2016, it remains a unsolved mystery to this very day what happened to this fleet or why there have been no survivors. As a result the NUNS had decided not to let the general public know about this tragedy and has been covered up ever since, conspiracy theories are aplenty, the fleet having been totally destroyed from hostile Zentradi remnents to anti-goverment forces or unknown hostile aliens.
By 2030s had the Megaroad-class been replaced newly designed vessel,the New Macross-class. The New Macross-class can carry between 350,000 to 1 million colonists. The planet Eden was among the first to be colonized in 2010s from there Megaroad-class ships launched to colonize more planets.
By A.D. 2047, thanks to an aggressive breeding and cloning programs that resulted from the Humanity Seeding project, the survivors of the war managed to grow their population to 750 billion citizens.
In A.D. 2067, galactic human population numbered at around 1.4 trillion, with half-Zentradi citizens growing to 600 billion, and another trillion making up other alien races. This brought the sum total of citizens under the N.U.N. at three trillion.
