Mecha is the term that refs to (usually) military vehicles that have a humanoid, robot-like shape.
Mecha can be divided into variable (transforming), usually between the forms of fighters and humanoids (see variable fighters) and non-variable.
Humanity developed its own mecha, inspired by OverTechnology, around early 21st century, during Unification Wars.
