Richard Bilrer (リチャード・ビルラー, Richādo Birurā) commonly referred to as Mr. Birler, is the Zentradi founder of an interstellar transportation conglomerate and the Strategic Military Services, a private military company in Macross Frontier. He resides in a grand palace in Island 1 of the Frontier emmigrant fleet in macronized form.

Birler was once a captain under Vrlitwhai Kridanik's fleet during Space War I. He one day dreams of uniting the galaxy by breaking through the Fold Fault barriers, possibly through the use of Fold Quartz crystals. His most prized possession is his model train set and an old photograph of Lynn Minmay.

A veteran of Space War I, Bilrer is a eccentric Zentradi that built his fortune through interstellar travel and providing private military services. Due to his age, he possesses multiple artificial implants in his body, with one that allow him to receive phone calls directly into his left ear.

In episodes 14th and 15th, Bilrer meets Alto Saotome to discuss how he is a model train enthusiast and that he dreams of connecting the entire galaxy using the Fold Quartz crystals, which could harvested from the Vajra. During the final episode of the series, he is seen treasuring an old photograph of the long lost celebrity Lynn Minmay hidden within his Fold Quartz ring. He states that he intends to one day meet her again using the Vajra's fold communication network.
