Personality & Character[]
Takashi is a loving and protective father, but can be overly strict due to his duties as a soldier. Even though he treats his daughter, Misa Hayase as a professional in public, he helps advise and guide her career in private as her father.
History[]
Unification Wars[]
During the war, Takashi achieved several victories as commander of the United Nations Military, and served as an Admiral at the General Command of the U.N. Forces at Alaska. During the war Bruno J. Global was his subordinate and friend. Due to him being away for work, he was not present when his wife, Sakiko, passed way. This would cause a rift between him and his daughter, Misa Hayase.
Space War I[]
When the SDF-1 Macross denied its return to Earth, he refused to let his daughter come back aboard the ship. He takes on Misa's request to let the leaders of the United Nations Government pursue peace negotiations with the Zentradi, but only after they had fully developed the Grand Cannon. He only wishes to negotiate when the UN Government are in a position of strength over the Zentradi. When Golg Boddole Zer's proceeds to bombard Earth, Takashi successfully orders the Grand Cannon to retaliate, but is killed by subsequent attacks.
