Varauta (バロータ Barōta), also known as Varauta 3198 XE, Varauta IV or Libera, is the name of both a star system and the fourth planet in that system. It was first introduced in Macross 7. Hundreds of thousands year ago, during the wars between Protoculture and the Protodeviln, the latter were defeated and imprisoned in the fourth planet in that star system.
History[]
In 2025 Varauta system was found by human-Zentradi colony ship Megaroad-13. Subsequent details are unclear, but it appears that population of Varuta colony has been brainwashed by Protodeviln, with some turned into soldiers, and others used as living energy batteries. Those brainwashed soldiers were known as the Varauta Army, which was much like the Supervision Army that fought against the Stellar Republic in millennia past. The resulting conflict between U.N. Spacy forces from Macross 7 and the Protodeviln was known as the Protodeviln War (2045-2046). (Macross 7)
Several years after the war, its region became fold gate to occupy in 2068 as a result of summoning Protoculture relay.
