The Varauta Army refers to brainwashed forces under the control of the spirits of the Protodeviln, as seen in the Macross 7 television series. They are mostly composed of survivors of the Megaroad-13 human ship, used by Protodeviln during the Protodeviln War (2045-2046). Their main base is in the fourth planet of the Varauta system.
Organization[]
The Varauta Army is composed of brainwashed U.N. Spacy unit called the Blue Rhinoceros sent to investigate the fourth planet of the Varauta system. They uncovered an ancient being which turned out to be the spirits of the Protodeviln. Fleet Advisor Ivano Günter had come under the possession of Geperuniti while Lt. Autolmauer was taken over by Gigile. The rest of the team were also possessed and served as grunts for the alien forces. Brainwashed pilots of the captured Macross 5 fleet would later comprise the bulk of the Varautan army's forces.
