Vindirance (ビンディランス ビンディランス) is an anti-government organization in Macross VF-X2. They were one of the few factions that was aware and opposed to the Earth-supremacist group Latence. Their leader is the ace pilot Mariafokina Barnrose. They would later be known as the Barnrose Organization, part of a regulatory bureau by the New United Nations Government.
Overview[]
Mariafokina Barnrose is the de facto leader of the anti-government organization Vindirance. Under her leadership, Vindirance is the only anti-government group that's opposed to Latence, the Earth-supremacist group working with the U.N. Spacy and to interfere with the domestic affairs of colony worlds. The VF-X Ravens commanding officer, Major Gilliam Angreat, is implied to have some previous history with Barnrose, and has been aware of the true nature of the U.N. Spacy for some time. It's implied within the game that Barnrose has a network of allies and sympathizers within U.N. Spacy.
Once the VF-X Ravens became aware of Latence's planned coup d'etat against the United Nations Government, Vindirance is the one that orchestrates the offensive against the hijacked Macross-13.
Notes & Trivia[]
- Macross Chronicle mentions an in-universe rumor that "Mariafokina Barnrose" is an alias of Therese Mariafokina Formula Jenius, and that the reason Vindirance was such a successful organization was that it was being clandestinely supported by U.N. Forces flag officers, including her father Maximilian Jenius.
- The novelization of Macross Frontier indicates that, in the aftermath of Latence's defeat, the New United Nations Government created a regulatory bureau overseeing the VF-X Special Forces units called the Barnrose Organization.[1]
